Module 3

In this module, I explore P5, 3D scanning, and 3D printing.

Activity 1

Following designer Giorgia Lupi's her step-by-step instructions, I created a selfie using personal data. For the first step, I added 19 circles to represent my age. I added a translucent 20th circle because my birthday is coming up. I added vertical lines to represent where I am from. I did a yellow one because I was born and live in North America, an orange one because my mom is from South America, and a blue one because my father is from Africa. I added a red triangle to represent me being a glass half full person. I added a black half circle to represent me being a night owl. I added black and yellow lines, the amounts correlating with when I wake up and when I go to sleep. I added a blue circle because I sing in the shower. I added a bracket-like shape because I am a cat person. I added a yellow triangle because I am an iPhone user. I added a black line to the top of the yellow triangle because I keep my phone in my bed at night. I added a zig-zag line using the pencil tool because I prefer pencils. I added a red moon shape because I am an extrovert. I added a blue lines around the red moon shape because I like adventurous weekends. I added black lines to show how many friends I would bring on vacation. I added orange lines because if I found $100 on the street, I would spend it. I moved and scaled all the different elements for a final composition. All of the elements by each other. I saved them as PNGs. I added the PNGs to the code. This is a screengrab from me playing with the updated code with my elements. This is a screengrab from me playing with the updated code with my elements. I didn't crop my scans before I airdropped them to my laptop so in Meshmixer I used select and discard to get rid of the background. I used inspect to patch the hole in the bottom of my scan. I moved to Cinema 4D to continue the process. When trying to change the colour of the patched part, this error message popped up. I didn't crop my scans before I airdropped them to my laptop so in Meshmixer I used select and discard to get rid of the background. This is my first scan imported to Meshmixer. This is the patched bottom. An angle of the patched scan in Cinema 4D. Another angle of the patched scan in Cinema 4D. My last scan imported to Meshmixer. An angle of the patched scan in Meshmixer.
